Record Sale for Co-op in NYC: $77.5M / 834 Fifth Avenue

Another NYC sales record was just broken.  Ukrainian-born billionaire Leonard Blavatnik paid $77,500,000 for an 11th and 12th floor duplex apartment at the prestigious Rosario Candela-designed Art Deco building, 834 Fifth Avenue. This is the highest price ever paid for a co-op in New York City.  The home was purchased from Johnson and Johnson heir (and New York Jets owner), Woody Johnson. Other owners at 834 Fifth Avenue have included Elizabeth Arden, Bing Crosby, Rupert Murdoch, and Laurance S. Rockefeller, who owns the building.  Read the full details in this New York Times Big Ticket article.
